A little about my journey…
At 29 years old, while lying in an emergency room bed, a doctor told me that if I didn’t change my lifestyle, I would die. Two days later, by the grace of God, I decided that my life was worth saving.
But change doesn’t happen at once.
I had to overhaul every part of my life, piece by piece. I had to rewire my mind, body, soul, and community. I had to quit a lot of really bad addictions and habits. I had to rebuild my relationships and ask for A LOT of forgiveness. After a decade of hating who I was, I had to learn to trust and love myself. I had to give myself the grace and space to take baby steps toward long-lasting change.
I also had to learn how to treat my body well. Exercising, grocery shopping, and cooking were not in my small toolbox of skills at the time unless you wanted me to whip up a cheese quesadilla or pour a bowl of cereal.
I skimmed the surface of nutrition and learned some basics.
Then, in true me fashion, experimented with all the eating trends: paleo, whole 30, keto, intermittent fasting, macros, vegetarian, pescatarian, counting calories...None of which I could stick with for long.
Sound familiar to anyone?
I knew there had to be a better way to live (and eat), so I dove into the depths of nutrition and became a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP).
Over the years, I’ve found freedom in balance, instead of restriction. I discovered the amazing benefits of what and how we eat. I’ve started viewing food as medicine and fuel for my body. I enjoy food rather than obsess over it. And I continue to learn the incredible effect food and lifestyle choices have on my mood, energy, weight, immune system, hormones, sleep, skin, and overall wellness. It’s amazing. One might even say I’m delighted by it. ;)
Without accountability, habit-changing tools, nutritional guidance, and wholehearted vulnerability, I would have never had the knowledge or confidence to sustain my new life. As I continue on my journey, I’m committed to make decisions that help me be comfortable in my body, age confidently, and prevent future disease. I wake up inspired to make my next chapter my best chapter. And I want to help you do the same.
Delighted Nutrition is about more than food. It’s about caring for your body and navigating the big wide world of “wellness.” It’s about questioning why certain foods make you feel yuck, and others help you thrive. It’s about connecting with others through delicious and simple meals. And it’s about making daily choices that support the energy and lifestyle you want.
My approach is one of curiosity, compassion, authenticity, and presence. Your story matters to me. What you’re going through matters to me. Understanding who you are and where you’ve been makes me better equipped to support your journey.
Together, we’ll work to help you break free from any limiting beliefs, empowering you to make decisions based on self-love and respect rather than guilt or fear. I truly believe EVERYONE can break through barriers and reinvent their health and life. I’ll be with you every step of the way.
